As I felt I had cause to respond to a comment on another forum today on this subject which quoted a spokesperson for the retailer concerned as having described ths book as 'a Christmas bestseller which sold really well' and added the (albeit rhetorical) question "what kind of idiots are Waterstone's employing?", I wrote:

Presumably ones who, if nothing else, are paid for doing their jobs regardless of their being blissfully (and at the same time sickeningly) unaware of the fact that Kristallnacht and Christmas night are not synonymous. And anyway, the place is called Wasserstein's, innit? Maybe it occurred to whoever thought up this abysmal idea that, if the book is being presented as part of the firm's Christmas half price offers or included in one of their Yuletide 2 for the price of 3 deals, it'll be a case of Ho-ho-ho-lo'-cost.
