The great hops of the uk

Well since a thread been started by the wine drinkers of this board, I know there are some Real Ale quaffers or suppers here. Region by region there are such a wide variety of different ales to be had. My favoiurite ones are from Lancashire and Cornwall. kinners Brewerey is one of the best, imo.

    Doom Bar from Rock.

And my local seasonal favourite: Harvey's Old.

      Deuchar's IPA. I also enjoy Wadworth 6X as a general-purpose pint.

Fullers London Pride is also a fine general purpose pint; very fond of their ESB and London Porter, too (in moderation, of course). Their 1845 ale is a serious drink at 6.3% ABV http://www.fullers.co.uk/rte.asp?id=57

Slightly misleading title - I was expecting heated discussion re the relative merits of Goldings vs Fuggles...

But if it's the end product then our (relatively) local brewery,Marstons, still produces some fine beers (the Pedigree, the Pedogree) using the Union method. I successfully organised a trip round there once..

Another brewery I forgot to mention and that is Shepherd Neame. Their ales are worth their weight in gold! Spitfire, 1698, Master Brew, Whistable Bay....

Another localy brwerey is Dark Star. They were opriginal;ly a micro brewerry but have expanded, like so many others have done, and moved to a village called Partirdge Green and i believe have taken over a pub thats near them to! Be worth a visit! Incidentally, weith Dark Star, the owner ttrainer Stephen sskinner of /Skinners Brewery his craft! We met him there a couple of years ago as well.

Being as distant as I am and indeed have to be from any of this stuff (as I've already reported elsewhere), I initially read one word in this thread as "hopes", which just goes to show how wrong one can be...

Nonsense, and that evades the point!
