The main theme bears a superficial resemblance to Wiener Blut - don't know which came first.
Dynamiden came first by many years. An even better correspondence is between the same theme and the waltzes from Der Rosenkavalier. Richard Strauss admired Josef's music and thought him the most gifted Viennese Strauss.

Dynamiden was originally called Geheime Anziehungskräfte (The Secret Power of Magnetism), but Josef was persuaded to give it a snappier title, hence Dynamos.

I'd forgotten about the Russian sailors.
