Two Czech speakers who confirm what scb said. Two stresses on the third (primary) and sixth (secondary) syllables. Forvo is the most reliable source I know of.

Router to rhyme with scooter or doubter? As Prof CEM Joad would have said: "It depends what you mean by …"

(I have both, but used to pronounce my broadband thingy to rhyme with doubter. I don't now though because I don't use my router very much.)

It is absolutely amazing how people will, with utter confidence, give their own pronunciation as being the correct one. What it means is 'I always say this'.

Most Americans in my experience say "rowter" (as in "rout") - not "rooter", and "rowt" for a road.

Apart from pronunciation, some words are different. If any teacher ever goes to work in the USA and takes the kids on a trip, don't tell the kids to "get on" or "stay on" the "pavement". The effect may be rather different from what one would expect, and dangerous to boot.
