Many do, but Robert Moog, who 'invented' the Moog synthesizer, was most insistent about the correct way to pronounce his family name, and thus the name of the instruments, though I think he eventually got fed up with correcting the mispronunciation.Last edited by Bryn; 13-04-11, 20:21.

Mispronouncing a name is sometimes understandable if someone isn't available to advise, but there's no way one can forgive ITV3's sponsorship advert for "early evening dramas" - Airwick "mold wine fragrance". I contacted the company, suggesting they meant "mulled wine" but only received a polite thank-you-but-we-haven't-really-read-your-email reply.

I suspect it may have something to do with how far they are - or wd wish to be seen as being - from their Welsh roots - it being originally ap Howell...
