Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours on at the moment. How I wish I'd never heard that man [?] intoning 'Hello mudder, hello fadder'. A pleasant enough piece ruined for me.

A work colleague from my first proper job used to sing to the tune of Haydn's Austrian Hymn a song which ended, "What a dreary occupation, Crushing ice for Grandma's piles." It didn't ruin this tune for me since I never considered it to be one of Haydn's finest inspirations.
