      Sorry to say I am not one of the elect, I don't have it at all, only his Halle version of No 2 from the 1960s (part of the box set) and a NYPO (1940) performance.

              Belatedly, thanks for the suggestions. In the end I went for the Ashkenasy. Nice box too !!
              Anyway, played no1 in a perfect (well very good) place this morning, driving along the A30 from Exeter to Bodmin, frost glinting, that sort of thing.

              Fab.
