          Quite. Nor me too.

Mensa, mensa, mensam. Who of us has ever addressed a table?

          I hope I don't regret asking this.

I've spoken to a few. I didnt actually mean to speak to the table, but somehow I just slipped a little after the third bottle. I meant to talk to the number opposite, he had some views I didnt share, but then I seemed to be talking to the table. Or perhaps it was the floor. But my arguments were irrefutable. Not least because no-one could understand them. Or cared.

The owner of only one tooth, a couple of years ago I went into a local dentist for a checkup and was seen that afternoon. Earlier this year I called in and was seen within ten minutes.
                      The moral is quite clear.

Ditto London in the 40s/50s - but what I did last Wednesday week or even more recently is becoming a problem.

Nylon sheets! Easy care, but so uncomfortable. Bakelite can be found in exhibits of industrial design. My grandfather knew Leo Baekeland, inventor of Bakelite, back in the 1930s when they both lived in the NYC area. They were part of the (small) Belgian immigrant community and both members of the Belgian-American Chamber of Commerce. My father remembers taking various street cars and the train from the upper West Side up to Yonkers to visit the Baekelands at their estate near the Hudson River.

Does 'I will have been loved' tell the complete story of a love affair? It encompasses anticipation of an affair, implies that the affair takes place, and contemplates the certainty of the affair ending. It has a poignancy, and mystery - who will the lover be - does 'I' know yet? why is 'I' so certain that they will be loved, or that the affair will end? how - & why - will it end?

One could, however, say, "By the end of 2011 I wil have been loved ten times. The last time was in 1992", and be telling the truth!
