it's just possible that my undisguised name and gender might be something to do with it...

but, whatever, greetings to dear Ams, the dishy Beef, and JS in his (former) suave hat and trenchcoat...

Well, I feel much more sorry for grumpy old men and I wouldn't go by avatars, jayne ... apart from Amsey's, of course.

              What a strange post, IIMSS.

Why is Ms Brooks your sworn enemy?

As to hatred, I'm happy that it's an emotion that I don't seem to feel, really, now. I think that, rather as the quality of mercy seems to benefit "him that gives and him that takes", so does hatred eat away at the mental well-being of the person hating.

Scotty, my avatar is the most recent pic of me and I am sure yours is too. Why can't we go by them, or am I being niaive?

i think that Dave George and Jeremy etc actually hate their ex Oxbridge peers at the BBC and other such places, in fact i suspect two very antagonistic tribes at the heart of the establishment .... and all our politics etc is a war between them for supremacy ... money/power versus ideas/culture .. an intractable opposition between the scholars and the hearties .... didn't E Waugh write a book or two about this sort of thing?

agreed calum da jazbo - although in the context of the leveson inquiry we are unusually aware of the contribution and power of 'other such places' specifically those who normally enjoy the luxury of a low profile, and maximum personal privacy.

tbh i'm surprised at my own relief that it's 'for one night only' jane lee wilson! personally, i loathe the lot of them, male(s) and female, young and old, they all stink, and ultimately at our expense. however, i also loathe some responses, particularly vitriolic and self satisfied tweets relating to silly things about rb. though it might be tempting under the circumstances, tweeters aren't horrid in the same way about even the vilest men who've appeared at the inquiry. i sometimes (secretly) wish both nick davies, and lord justice leveson were women however!

i totally agree about (some)? 'men like to be included' amatuer51, so true! if not, they tend to cause immense trouble, simply in order to attract attention. though i'd extend that to (some) women too, though happily not on this forum.
