There will always be intolerance and prejudice in society against one group and the other, not least practised by those who always claim the moral high ground in such matters.
However sincere conviction should never be confused with unthinking intolerance (as it is often outrageously and quite deliberately portrayed by opponents with their very own ulterior motivation?).

However, I jest. Your serious point is well made.

Of course, but even sincere idiots like you and I are entitled to our opinions in a genuinely tolerant society, S_A ... ?
I was referring to Ms Brooks' shameful prejudice against 'grumpy old men' which appears to have escaped some members here.
Can you just imagine the furore coming from the likes of Mr Skelton and others if any 'grumpy old man' had referred to Ms Brooks as an 'eye-fluttering young(er) woman'?.
Stereotypes are often applied to both sexes and all ages and the relatively-privileged Ms Brooks is hardly worthy of any sympathy in that regard.
Furthermore, it rather astounds me that all the great bastions of the liberal Left here are suddenly rushing to defend this blatant ageism and sexism.

Your blatant phnurr-phnurr sexism is so ... 1950s! Not even Cameron talks about women like you do.

Here's a classic grumpy old man - a real rip-snorter

I wonder why, here and now, and for one night only on this very thread, I feel a little sorry for my sworn enemy Rebekah Brooks...
it's just possible that my undisguised name and gender might be something to do with it...
but, whatever, greetings to dear Ams, the dishy Beef, and JS in his (former) suave hat and trenchcoat...
