Had a quick peek, liked this (but looking forward to video being put on line)

Lord Justice Leveson: "I'm not sure you've given me an answer"
Mr Murdoch: "I think that's a little above my pay grade, sir"
Lord Justice Leveson: "I doubt it"

Amazing, ahem, *memory lapses* on Junior's part eh?

      I never thought nepotism worked.

From the little I have seen, he seems to have major memory lapses, Rupert tomorrow will be interesting, whether he plays the Elder Statesman or the Grumpy Old Man who does not what is going on.

I'm becoming a big fan of His Grumpiness

Murdoch appears to have been well briefed for this (he arrived an hour before the session started) and he's also dropping Jeremy Hunt in the doo-doo whilst not appearing to do so. Mr Jay is being his usual grinding self and I think is getting a lot out of Murdoch in spite of the preparation.

An intriguing week ahead; Andy Coulson & Viscount Rothermere on Thursday, and Rebekah Brooks on Friday under oath for a change.

"Fresh details of how News International (NI) apparently sought goodwill by dangling two offers of sponsorship in front of the London mayor, Boris Johnson, are contained in evidence published by the Leveson inquiry.

Rupert Murdoch has admitted in Leveson testimony that executives at the company were at the time - throughout 2010 - attempting to cover up the truth about phone hacking at the News of the World.

In September 2010, Johnson publicly attacked the hacking disclosures, calling them party political "codswallop".

Documents subsequently revealed that NI was at the time offering him £2m towards an academy school in London and talking of donating millions more to sponsor another Johnson project, a cable car crossing the river Thames.

At the end of 2010, according to emails published by Leveson, the NI executive Will Lewis asked colleagues: "Where are we with the schools project, particularly Boris securing the land and Michael Gove [the education secretary] the capital investment?"

An internal meeting on the subject was arranged at the company's Wapping HQ with James Murdoch. Lewis also discussed the cable car sponsorship with colleagues. He wrote on 11 January 2011: "Re cable cars … Transport for London have submitted their original planning application and are awaiting the results next month. Once granted, we can hopefully jump in – if we want to."

Both offers were, however, dropped shortly afterwards.

Documents show NI discussed providing millions of pounds for academy and cable car during phone-hacking investigation

Innit tho', S_A - is there a process for the Mayor to be indicted or does s/he get cover until they're out of office, as happened with Jacques Chirac as French President regarding crimes he was alleged to have committed while Mayor of Paris??

Where's Lord St John of Fawslwey when you need him?

Is there no other constitutional expert available?

Or shall we have to put up with Louise Mensch or Daniel Hannam, they're bound bound to have an opinion

Not a particularly busy week for the Inquiry but two star witnesses in Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks ...

Brief highlights of the former News International chief executive's evidence to the inquiry into media standards on Friday

Culture secretary under pressure as email appears to show he asked Murdoch firm's advice on dealing with hacking scandal

                            And some interesting comments ....

Michael Wolff: Brooks was chief architect of the very nexus of press and political power the Leveson inquiry is struggling to uncover

I didn't waste my time watching the live coverage, but from what I heard on PM Rebekah Brooks was in fine form at the inquiry. Ran rings around that smarmy Jay character.
