investigation of the met can only be further bolstered by the recent formal complaint by the wrongly accused school teacher.

good luck to him, and the investigation as a whole.

what a lawless, seedy bunch they are increasingly exposed as.

let's hope 'my learned whatsits' finally do sort the met out.....at least as a gesture towards a fresh start?

can't we just not have tabloids any more?

Seems like a rather drastic step.

It appears that the Met under Sue Akers is taking the whole shenanigans seriously at last ....

The Scotland Yard team investigating allegations that newspaper journalists bribed police officers to obtain information is to be expanded by 50% after four past and present Sun journalists were arrested just over a week ago.

Sue Akers, head of Operation Elveden, says there is 'very legitimate public interest' in investigating leaks to journalists. By Dan Sabbagh

A few journalists arrested, but, apparently, no policemen.

And, I notice that I am warned that witnesses were using strong language this morning. My observation was that a barrister was quoting coarse language.

Blimey, you wouldn't want Mr Dacre poking his nose round your bedroom door would you, and growling his disapproval at anything which didn't correspond with his particular world view...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Dacre today, Meyer last week - it is no wonder we're in the mess we're in if they represent la crème de la crème de nos jours

At least it looked like you'd have fun with Michael Grade while he tried to sell you a car

Jay is applying the skewer to Mr Dacre [who gives every appearance of not getting the very concept of his paper being criminal and not wanting to get it] and m'lud has just put it himself and given Mr dacre five minutes to talk to his lawyer ... will Dacre admit that they were acting very improperly?

Managed to catch a bit of this live (normally have to use the catch up video) Oh, the Divine Mr. Jay wasn't having any of Mr. Dacre's wriggling and fogging was he! Great stuff!

this has to be the classic session ... it is now painful, Dacre is a dinosaur and at a loss to explain himself in the terms of the enquiry .... it is the moment of death of a zeitgeist .....

Painful to the extreme, when is Mr. Jay going to produce the Daily Maul headline 'Immigrants caused cancer in my hamster' ?

More likely "Immigrants killed Lady Di". Or is that the Daily Express? I'm never sure.
