    Fireworks whoops!!

This story has me weeping … the 20min firework display which was affected by an electrical malfunction. Whole lot went up in 50 seconds. It’s on video as well – like a display on speed:

The company behind a firework display in Oban which lasted just 50 seconds has offered to provide another show free of charge later in the month.

It's happened before. I seem to recall something of the sort in Green Park, um, 1749 was it...? The estimable Mr Handel provided the music.

Though I daresay it wasn't an "electronic malfunction" in those days...
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

The organizers have promised to lay on a free display at the end of the month.

But they will get up again before applying the match, one assumes...

That's the way to do it !

almost as good as the ones they used to do at the end of the Aldeburgh carnival where you sit on the beach with a pint of Adnams to watch it over the sea

One spectator said, 'It was fantastic. It was like it was daylight!'

                No wonder.

Some bright spark will be held responsible

Much better this brief blaze of glory than the Somerset M5 fireball I suppose.
