    Has the calendar gone mad?

From the back page of today's Guardian magazine:

Habitat invites you to indulge in 20% off Christmas Lighting and Decorations.

    Our Christmas gift to you.

    Ends Sunday 13 November.

(So we have eight days to get ready for Christmas!)

Never mind about the calendar - didn't Habitat go out of business?

Ah - having checked I see that it's now owned by the company that counts Argos & Homebase as its principal 'brands'.

      Happy Tat?

I was dragged there screaming and protesting by my wife thirty five years ago.

      Haven't been back since.

Just remembered. Forum clock may advance to GMT + 1 this afternoon/evening (for Guests/ Not Logged In members only) to check which weekend it prefers to return to GMT
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

... well, after all, we wouldn't want to confused with the sort of people who have to buy their own furniture...

Amateur51 reminds us on the Marxism thread -

They are selling Christmas trees in B&Q
and probably hot cross buns in Morrisons

what on earth is the point in having seasonal festivals etc when they all seem to be able to happen at the same time ?
