Perhaps he was thinking when he saw the swans is St James's Park that he was back at the Abbotsbury swannery in his Dorset constituency.

... er was he carrying his papers in a Tesco's placcie bag ....[i find it difficult to find anything much to be bothered about but it is amusing ... although the first constituent who had his letters put in the bin would not be amused i suppose, but if there was anything to be had in that bin it would have been all over the front pages of the rags by now eh]

it is what Mr Letwin [late of N M Rothschild Corporate finance Ltd] gets up to in his office and clubs that bothers me far more ....

Oh 'ello, one minute it's Prime Minister Cameron & Coulson and now it's Dr Fox and Werrity - those Tories and their judgement calls

Former Defence Secretary Liam Fox was warned about his working relationship with Adam Werritty, an official report says.

Sir Gus O'Donnell's report says the risks were raised with him by both his private office and permanent secretary.

Ex-Defence Secretary Liam Fox ignored warnings about his working relationship with Adam Werritty, an official report says.

I really do feel the need for the old emoticon these days

Fox was annointed by the Blessed Margaret and thus 'knew' he could do no wrong (rules being merely for lesser mortals) - he was busy setting himself up with the far right but very moneyed nutters who appear to be funding the Tory party these days - the whole thing stinks but don't expect anything to be done about it - a cursory examination of the US system shows that lobbying and corporate control of politicians still has some way to descend on this side of Atlantic - however there is no real opposition to be had from the adenoidal kid - the rise of the Tea Party shows how easy having money and control of the media can get mass support for policies that benefit only the rich - 1930's beckon - all that's needed is the right rabble rouser.

It's not over yet, oh dear me no!

A second Conservative minister is facing scrutiny over his involvement with Adam Werritty, Liam Fox’s best man, whose activities cost the Defence Secretary his job.

So good to have the Tories back

Isn't it just! I wonder if he is related in any way to the Viscount Astor who gave the party where John Profumo met Christine Keeler. It was of course Viscount Astor of whom Mandy Rice-Davies said, "Well he would, wouldn't he?"

Bit of a dis-Astor all round!

                    yes, dis-Astor .... what!

tally ho - trot on mangerton!

There is also a plug for her mother Lady Annabel Astor's furniture chain, Oka.

Why did Tory leader's wife feel the need to tell Americans her favourite christening gift* is a bubblegum-pink calfskin Bible costing £150?* We don't suppose it could be anything to do with the opening of Smythson of Bond Street in Los Angeles?

lady annabel astor is apparently cameron's mother in law. so, how close to 'home' is lord astor, pm-wise? (though there might well be lots of astors).
