Many thanks for keeping this most enjoyable thread going year after year. Let’s hope we’ll all be here when next round starts.

"Hosts, please" what, Bbm? The Thread can be shut down, in which case somebody will have to start a new CMA Thread next Advent, or left open and hope that Forumistas will wish to respect the "Christmas Special" aspect of the Thread. AFAIK, there is no way of "freezing" a Thread - either Forumistas let it sleep, or one of the Hosts kills it.

And what has Honegger's Rugby got to do with Babbitt's All Set?

I believe 'set' is a stage - announced by the referee - in the process of conducting a scrum in rugby union.

Wellington's Victory, or, the Battle of Vitoria (Wellingtons Sieg oder die Schlacht bei Vittoria), Op. 91, is a minor 15-minute long orchestral work composed...

... as conceived for panharmonicon by Maelzel

                      (obviously a Bristol boy... )
