Having only limited knowledge of classical music but being a dab hand at Google, can I suggest Tuur, with two umlauts, Symphony No 6? I think it connects with the Birtwistle rather well.

Yes, Flosshilde, it was Earth Dances. Stratum/strata. It was deviation. You get a point and you now have the subject. There's 45 seconds and the clock starts now.

According to the composer's website - http://www.erkkisven.com/worklist-an...-for-orchestra, which I've just looked at - it's to do with the Big Bang. I was thinking of rock strata, hence my assumption that lateralthinking was connecting it with 'Earth Dances'.
