Always to the hilt, mangerton ... though I must point out that Papists are generally not really that well-versed and modern when it comes to Bibles.

Should that not be "arosed"? Or possibly "ris", as in this famous poem:

"The spring is sprung, the grass is ris,
I wonder where dem boidies is."
... ah yes! - the voishn I woz told woz -

      "Spring is sprung,
      the grass is riz,
I wonder where the boidies is.

They say the boid is on the wing.
      But that's absoid.
The wing is on the boid!"

I'm afraid that wayward apostrophes are old hat -

Suddenly, quotation marks are turning up in all the wrong places – but one blog is out to show misusers the error of their ways

If I remember rightly it was my first boss who taught me that. She also commented on the interesting ideas for using daisies & forget-me-nots in 'Lady Chatterly's Lover' - I was very into flower arranging at the time.

(My first boss was the borough librarian: a white-haired - probably in her 50s - spinster, who used to ride around town on her bright red moped)
