Me as i was then ...

Of the back of another thread I suddenly had the idea for a stream in which board members can post picture of their younger selves. Some members prefer to be anonymous but they might be inclined to post some earlier images. Here's one of me for starters, with my brothers, me on the right:

I'll take you up on that...

Here, possibly a year or two older than the cherubic infant Shb, is yours truly, even then happier on wheels (now two or four, rather than three) than on foot...

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Fascinating. Slightly more petulant than your siblings, and why were you clutching an electric razor?

Dare I say that I think we are seeing the difference between the immediate post war years and the more colourful 60s (I think mine had yellow wheels)... Sort of Wolseley Super Six versus Mark 1 Mini, perhaps?

Don Petter ... that's no eletric razor - that's my space gun and we're just squaring up for a big shoot out at the OK Coral!

Caliban ... don't you look happy ... Me, as per my avatar I always managed to look very pensive as a child, like I was carrying all the troubles of the world on my little shoulders!

I guess you're not the chap in your avatar then, based on the info here.

No, I'm pretty sure I've seen that chap in the avatar picture (without his hat) standing on the stage at the Albert Hall looking at the audience. I suspect Caliban looks in the opposite direction.

Perhaps you should adopt a "Sherlock Holmes" avatar, Dave....?

Not the one in the middle front row then!

You went to a very small school, Mahlerei?

Yes, 'twas very small (120 boarders). This is just the prefects The headmaster is the dork in front. He was very weird and used to zoom around the classroom making aeroplane noises while we did our maths. His son was also at the school (the little b**tard shot me with an air rifle).

Gosh, Mahleri ... what age did yuo have to be before they allowed you to wear long pants. Those are very short short pants.

One has to be careful. On another board someone did use his own picture, but he looks rather like a well known character from a US TV series - I'm not apparently the only person to notice this.

Testing? Not sure whether we are allowed to do this, and maybe the test hasn't worked anyway!
