    Good morning, Salymap.

Yes, quite right. All five string sonatas were also arranged by the composer for wind quartet.

Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon and Horn. (No squawking oboe for once!)

As for a Cure for the Doldrums, I'm afraid I don't have one. I can only quote the R3 'musicality' test where I scored 0% (twice) for emotional engagement with music and received the incredulous sounding accusation: "You don't use music to affect your mood!"

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

But surely it doesn't have to be a musical cure, ff. It could be gardening, or a cycle ride or a wild swim, or a new (to you) literary discovery.

Well, that's true. But as one of Nature's phlegmatics I don't tend to have moods . [Is this me, or is this me? - just watch out for the passive-aggressive side ... ]

I'd go for just about anything by Rimsky ... his music never fails to cheer me up ... and it was his Scheherazade Suite which first convinced me that classical music could be fun, tuneful and exciting.
