Maybe this score is a joke - but some quite interesting sounds, nevertheless - https://musescore.com/daforlynx/3141...m=notification

That first tone on the B flat cornet would have deafened everyone around, so... no need to go any further with that piece!

Now that would be a challenge for our post lady! "Could you just help me get it out of my (Tardis) van?

Or "Sorry - your portable holiday home has got lost in the post!"
"Sorry if we've b*gg*r*d your letter box."

Perfect staycation holiday in current circ's though?
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

China is breaking Hong Kong treaty with UK, says Dominic Raab
Except I don't think it was said as a joke ...
There are more (satire worthy) quotes here https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...s-dominic-raab

Hoping to be chortling soon with the latest issue of Beano, just picked up at the Coop while buying some milk.
              It's got an 8-page pull-out section for 'grown-ups'!

Children's comic the Beano features the PM's chief adviser in a strip aimed at cheering up adults.

I'm not sure how long it takes to get to Australia, where our godson's son has a subscription, or indeed if they get the same edition, but it will be good for us all to chortle together via Zoom/FaceTime at some point.

A WhatsApp message from a neighbour has alerted me to this astonishing headline.

People 'turn to custard and gravy' in the pandemic.

(From the new Private Eye, but taken from the BBC News website, according to the caption.)

(But perhaps a Pedants' Paradise retort would be that that would be odd only if 'into' had been used instead of just 'to'!)
                  It made me smile, though.

They've been watching the Sainsbury's Xmas ad then - or whichever Xmas ad is the one where the good old dad figure goes on about loving his gravy? Euphemisms running riot?

That there covid does strange things to a body to be sure... I share your smile although, as you say, the pedants would squash it.

JG Ballard could have made an SF out of that...........? Maybe Hollywood will?

Hollywood have been part of the gravy train for as long as anyone could remember.

Millwall's management have said that team members will not be taking an E before tonight's match.

I'm writing a book about hurricanes, though it's just a draft at the moment.
