And while at it, who makes todays mostly crap TV ads? What demographic are they supposed to be aimed at, and how much are the makers paid? In other words, how much are we consumers contributing to the price of said products? These questions make my blood boil. There are only two which are frequently shown on programmes I watch which have some subtlety to them: the meercat one; and the London Insurance one, which has individuals from different regions, genders or ethnicities passing the word on. What it says about the actual product is of course another matter; however the state of present-day advertising on the media just has to say something of significance about the degradation of present-day capitalism, and those on massive salaries who make decisions affecting all our lives, including about how their products are promoted. Today's political ruling classes, worldwide, are also a reflection of this cultural degradation.

Coopers produce barrels of various proportions.

                  ... indeed they do.

Still, I don't think many women - or men - would like to be compared to a barrel.

So long as Trump's in power and makes his gaffes
So long may Cooper find excuse for laughs.

I’ll chime in here, to add to the general bilge.

Realy? "Barrel-chested" is not usually intended as a negative description, surely?

                          ... I think nowadays people prefer a six-pack to a watney's red barrel

Very useful for doubling up as a washboard in your next skiffle group.

Probably only for those from, or in sympathy with, the Broad Acres ....

                              REMOTE WORKING

Man : Hello God, I hear you've been in Yorkshire for the last three months.
God : Yes that's right, I've been working from home.

My Yorkshire-born mother used to say "I would never trust that Harold Wilson".
                                "Why not, Mum?"
                                "Because he's 'chapel', isn't he!"
