"Doesn't anybody around here care enough about Saint-Saëns to tell him to stop writing operas?" - Claude Debussy, quoted from this week's COTW.

Not strictly a joke, but I was reminded tonight of the "odd one out" of Arthur Conan Doyle, Niels Bohr, Dmitri Shostakovich and Albert Camus.

Wrong sport, and all four were involved in it, with three of them in the same role.

You could hardly be more wrong ACD played at the highest level of the three playing the same role.

Ah! I knew that Camus was goalkeeper - I didn't know about ACD's similar role in Portsmouth.

Trivia question 1: Who was the only Nobel Prize winner to play first-class cricket?

Trivia question 2: Who were the only father and son to play together in the same national cricket team?

(One is a fact. One is a joke)

That's possibly because he wasn't. He did act as goal-keeper for another team, under a pseudonym, but for Portsmouth he was a back.

Not sure that counts as a joke though.
