The BBC Radio 3 Producer has found a great way to lose a large number of listeners - use a wonky News one liner to encourage people to go looking for the full story. This morning at 6.30am was a lulu: "US jets were launched to shoot down three objects, and they are still in the air!" That's it, no detail, no surmise about what the objects most likely are, or how they could have survived. (Is it the Borg?)... That had me switching off R3 and running to Google...
... can't find anything on Google... did a bored R3 intern just read the CNN headline and make up the part about the objects surviving?
