Charity shops for classical CD bargains

It is great when a avid classical music fan dies and his relatives just dump his treasured cd collection down the charity shop, ah yes, this is the way. My CD player has better and bigger speakers than my radio. Building a randomish library thanks to charity shops.
Annoyingly listening to and commenting on radio 3...

I often wonder who owned the discs I buy and how often they played them. As a collector of second-hand Lps it goes back further than CDs. Sometimes there's a clue : 'To Mary from Gladys, Xmas 1964'. Many early 1950s Lps are in excellent condition and I imagine they were bought by someone with the money to assemble a big collection and were played only a few times. As you say, they were possibly inherited by someone to whom they mean nothing, hence the donation. .

There is a very long thread on this already - perhaps this and charity shop trawl can be merged ?

I tend to take John Donne's view about death rather than considering it great to receive a benefit as a result of it.
