    Prince Harry

Oh dearie me, tempting me to get his book from the library or charity shop one day.
Annoyingly listening to and commenting on radio 3...

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Nah; that's his much loved brother, methinks.

In all seriousness, I can only echo the sentiments expressed by a pianist whom I will desist from naming about the I'm-no-so-wild-abourt-Harry's recent series - "I just can't wait to miss it"...

He is an entrepreneur who is seeking to monetise his USP. This has become necessary, since he apparently lacks other viable income streams.

If you see him like that, rather than a bloke with a title, he becomes more relatable. That's if you need him to be relatable.

Personally, I couldn't care less about this sideshow. But it's January, post-Christmas, it's cold and people are depressed. In these circumstances, soft news stories suddenly become important.

Oh, not really! I did get that, of course, but...

The point seems to be "who cares?" - other, of course, than those who make the most money out of the charade and those who stand to make even more out of those who do so...

Personally, I admire anyone who stands up to the media and establishment assumptions.

And it's not even as though Prince Andrew: The Musical is actually funny; maybe the Sussextile effusions various ought to have been merged with this by some inspired producer...

I take very little notice of royal matters, but, seeing the two "princes" photographed together at or near the top of every news outlet for the last few days I can't help noticing that one of them looks very much a scion of the House of Windsor whereas the other decidedly does not. I recall this having been a matter for some speculation at one time. If I were Harry I would be having my DNA looked at. Perhaps he already has.

Personally, I'm quite equerrynanimous about it all.

There is a youtube feature about the possible conception of the Duke of Sussex; I haven't seen it

After the Duchess' 'performance' on American Tv (as many said ' here is a popular American TV actress playing to her adoring audience. What is so newsworthy about that?') I wondered if these people live in such a rarified atmosphere that they don't realise how ridiculous they are, nor how they are being exloited by the media. Whn one considers the really serious problems there are inthe world it is very sad that such attention is being given to them.

It's a fairly effective distraction technique though.
Apparently Harry claims that KC3 has joked about who his(Harry's) father might be - James Hewitt has been mentioned elsewhere, and not for the first time. The focus seems to be the fact that Harry is ginger, but that doesn't have to involve a redhaired parent as it's a recessive gene. Diana being blonde and Charles dark haired could have been the cause, as with many couples.
It's all most unedifying and, unlike the "opening up" about mental health issues which has had some wider benefit to others, I can't see that all this is achieving much,if anything, that could be considered positive. Standing up to the media and the establishment is one thing but is this the best way to highlight the problems and start some sort of useful discussion?

The most bizarre headline was "I want my father and my brother back" (he wailed). My dear chap, this is possibly not the best way to go about it. But I just skate over the headlines because one can't miss them. But the saturation coverage is because "people" want to consume it. Just too much consumption these days, harrumph.

I have repeatedly expressed to my long-suffering wife my lack of interest in these royal shenanigans (winner of 2022 World Cup of Words) but did find the "20 key claims made in Prince Harry’s book" in this morning's Times to be a useful brief compendium. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/p...rate-h0cd76v5h

Eg the points relating to Camilla:

Harry and William ‘begged’ Charles not to marry her and would have welcomed her into the family if he had not done so

Charles's relationship with her confused and tormented William who, when those suspicions were confirmed, felt tremendous guilt for having done nothing, said nothing, sooner

Camilla is accused of leaking stories to the press
