    Christine McVie 12/07/1943 to 30/11/2022

Christine McVie, vocals and keyboard player of Fleetwood Mac has died. Spanned the departure of Peter Green through their leaner years to the arrival of Buckingham and Nicks, but very much part of the sound of the band alongside the rhythm section of Fleetwood and her ex husband. Came from a blues background with Chicken Shack. Her maiden name Perfect and appropriate to her musical ability - as she goes back beyond the Blue Horizon - RIP Christine.

'I'd Rather Go Blind' was a really important record for me when it came out in the days before I'd ever heard of Etta James. Christine's vocal still stands up beautifully beside Etta's original. Since they had their mega selling album, I hadn't heard much of Fleetwood Mac, but I heard Christine singing 'Songbird' yesterday on the radio 3 breakfast programme yesterday and it's a cracking song, and she was a terrific singer indeed.

I was never into Fleetwood mac, but occasionally I hear Everywhere [?] and love it every time: beautiful song, beautiful voice.

Rumors was never the number one album on the US charts but eventually was the best selling album here until Michael Jackson.
