The King, when Prince of Wales, famously used the word 'Carbuncle' to describe architecture he disliked. I especially resented the oblong slapped in front of Shrub Hill station in Worcester, and impertinently named 'Elgar House' . I'm sure he would have loathed it. He didn't even like the hakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.

My friend Katharine could be seen from the International Space Station so I acknowledge there are very good cyclists. However, I’ve had so many bad experiences both as a driver and pedestrian that I’d ban them.

I spoke up (in vain, alas!) at a public inquiry against my local authority's plan to convert to allow cycling on a footpath which was the last space around here where pedestrians could go free from wheeled traffic. Now cyclists, some of almost para-military appearance, bowl aong it at road speed, showing, at least, impatience with any pedestrians who dare to use it.
Then there's these e-scooters...! I think they're still illegal, but no-one seems to want to do anything about them.

Driving through London this week it was almost invariably the case that delivery cyclists took absolutely no notice of traffic lights. I had not previously realised that cyclists are exempted from observing the rules that govern other road users. I daresay the police have other more pressing problems.

I've been hit four times by pavement cyclists, once in Cambridge (but who hasn't?) and all other times locally where corners were involved. Also had some frightening near misses.

Parking apps would be one of mine to go in the room.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
