    Alexa classics

I'm trying to use Alexa to sample various Brahms double concertos on my new Amazon Echo. Perlman gets the nod when I simply ask for the concerto - though, that's all the information that Alexa is prepared to release - she will not tell me the orchestra, conductor or cellist! Anyone know of a trick for extracting this information? Or is there a way to exactly specify the performance to be played?

I also tried "St Matthew Passion Oberfrank" and she produced Solti's take, and gave me a long list of choir, soloists etc, which I quite like - the list that is - Solti's a bit heavy for me... Alexa obviously agrees as she stopped playing. I said "next track" and she gave me a list of stuff being shipped to me... Google tells me to just say "Alexa next". I do, and she tells me it was the last track and plays the first track again (punishment for using Google?)

Addendum - found a solution to my "which album is it?" problem. Alexa kindly sent the album cover to my app. Note, I can't click on the album and go straight to it - but that's probably because I'm using it on a google device! I can only use the web app and amazon say it is limited - the Google Play store alexa app "doesn't work on my device"... I've a new chrome box, if it doesn't work on this I'd be surprised if it works on anything google...

I just ordered a fire 8 to try and cure my integration problem. Amazon have just massively reduced prices on their devices,... well before Black Friday... a major attempt to destroy Google in the smart home device war? Searched for Google speakers on amazon and couldn't find them, Amazon speakers shown as alternatives...

What HiFi: "Amazon will indeed run a second Prime Day sales event this year, on Tuesday 11th October and Wednesday 12th October." Looks like Amazon pulled a fast one by going even faster into "massive reduction" mode...

What's the big attraction to using Alexa? I can't imagine using any voice-recognition software until such time as my physical state gives me no choice.

If it’s any consolation Siri is no better
