According to the daily Telegraph :This was the worlds longest queue
“The Guinness World Record for the longest queue ever recorded stands at 6 miles, when people lined up to see the grave of Russian musician Vladimir Visotsky in Moscow, 1980”
I’ve never heard of him -has anyone else?

Horowitz played in Moscow in 1980, or thereabouts, and there was a huge queue for him, so maybe they've mistaken their names.

Singer-songwriter, poet and actor. died 1980 aged 42. Probably a cultural icon as much as a musician.

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Yes I did this as well but had you heard of him ? The thing is it’s not the length of the queue it’s the density and from what I’ve heard this queue is getting very crammed at the start.

No, I hadn't heard of him, but Russia is a fairly large country so a national 'cultural treasure' might well attract a large crowd, especially as he was nobbut a youngster-ish.
