    Advisory notice :-) - 27 August

Mark has reported receiving half an hour's error messages of the kind that might (conceivably) be an attempt to bring down the forum. We're waiting to hear what caused the sudden overload on the server, but for the moment everything seems to be back to normal without any trouble caused.

Thought I'd mention it in advance, just in case the forum goes down. I think the risk has probably passed now.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I don't think anything will happen now, but on the odd occasion when there has been an 'outage' people wonder if it's their connection or the forum that's down. I just wanted to anticipate a possible event. I haven't noticed any sign of an unusual number of 'guests' or bots.
