Just done a quick survey and listened to the songs of his in my collection. I don't have a lot but it's good stuff.

Poison Ivy - Coasters 1958 which I think I can remember first time round - aged a mere 9 - I had no idea what it was about
        Spanish Harlem - Ben E King 1960
Of course, Stand by Me - Ben E King 1961
A nice jazzy and slightly eccentric Ruby Baby from Björk 1990
Jackson - Johnny Cash & June Carter 1967
Seminal Elvis - Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Treat Me Nice

Yes, a very significant figure. The great partnership not only of Leiber and Stoller but Leiber and Spector -

Kansas City, Love Potion No9, Searchin', I'm a Woman, Is that all there is, Lucky Lips to name a few.

.....just noted Nick Ashford. Yes, an utterly fantastic contribution. Marvin Gaye and Valerie Simpson (honest!?) -

Great tune by Marvin Gaye and (maybe) Tammi Terrell. Their version was recorded in 1967 during Terrells physical decline (she was suffering from a brain tumo...

I'll never forget ZZ Top ripping into a blistering rendition of Jailhouse Rock towards the end of a Dublin concert around 1986.
