    The trouble is with admitting this piece of fakery, you wonder what other examples there are still to be admitted!

    Moon landings? Covid? Climate change?

        I guess this wasn't quite 'fake news' as now so often practised, as long as cellist and bird really had duetted previously, which certainly seems to be well-attested.

        Perhaps it should simply have been labelled "artists' impression"?

            There is no doubt the broadcast...on what was a relatively new medium...brought pleasure to many. I recall my parents and grandparents talking about it. The people to whom it brought pleasure, and in some cases solace, are now dead and have passed away without any knowledge of the fakery. So maybe we should be happy for them?
