I did so badly today (6/6) that I require a restorative dose of Byrd's Ad dominum cum tribularer at today's Evensong from Trinity College chapel; at 6.15pm via their YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/TrinityCollegeChoir

I got it in 3. Luck was definitely on my side. Thanks for the tip about TCC evensong.

It is an extraordinary 8-pt early masterpiece of Byrdle (as opposed to my 6-pt!).

As a daily Wordle addict it's great to have this one as well. Thanks for the pointer.

This one took me all 6 guesses but got there in the end!

Missed it live (was off to a Tom Stoppard play) but just listened now. Amazing piece, as you say K. Definitely some Tallis influence there in Byrd's earlier pieces.

Bringing the subject back to Byrdle, it gets harder and harder to think of 5-letter choir-related words. Unlike Wordle where you have the entire English vocabulary at your disposal The idea seems to be going viral. There's even a new one called Lewdle...but not for discussion here!

I'm trying ANTIC ROUGE SYLPH as my first three words on both games (covers vowels and 9 common consonants). It has worked, but I suspect there are better strategies.

If after trying, to use your example, ANTIC, one or more of those letters come up as being in the answer, then there's no point in trying the other two. I enjoy the mental challenge of finding a word that fits with the result of my previous attempt without the aid of 'crossword finishers' and the like.

To my astonishment (and, I have to say, disappointment) I did actually get the daily Wordle on the first attempt last week!
