For 2022 concerts, recitals etc, the Aldeburgh Festival sets no less than seven preferential booking dates before general bookings are accepted. Bit much isn't it?

Water Members: from Wednesday 19 January 2022
Friends Members: from Friday 21 January 2022
Introductory Members: from Thursday 27 January 2022
General Booking opens on Saturday 29 January 2022 from 10am.

Should I want to visit (or end up being put off) and go to a Festival performance or performances, it will put it into context - availability and price wise.....

I've only been once (outside The Festival) to a ET Opera performance at the Maltings - Aldeburgh isn't my usual stamping ground. Its occurred to me how easy it could be to accumulate these memberships - and thought maybe apart from my main one at the Royal Opera House, I would have one - such as Wigmore Hall, Edinburgh Festival, etc and use it to make multiple visits, moving on at the end of the year (so no Direct Debits!). I might well follow that plan when Covid recedes into its eventual endemic destiny and things settle down........
