Most of tomorrow's output will comprise sequences by various presenters.

The R3 Sounds website is reporting what is being, and has been, played, but not what is coming up. These sequences continue up to 0600.

CORRECTION: These hosted musical sequences continue up til 0100 Sunday morning when TTN resumes, then Breakfast etc as normal.

I find this thoroughly galling. I have no great problem with those who grieve for the DoE doing so. I do have a big problem with being cajoled into joining them by this imposition of compulsory mourning by the BBC et al.

... and throughout most of tomorrow. Petroc Trelawny until 1 a.m. Penny Gore from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. I think, followed by Mr McGregor and others (Source: BBC Radio 3 schedule for tonight and tomorrow).
I share Bryn's resentment at being told what I'm supposed to feel and how I'm supposed to react, with the consequent assumption of what I would and wouldn't like to hear or watch.

I think what emerged ( according to press reports ) after the death of The Queen Mother was that the number of people upset by the length of the television and radio coverage was exceeded by those upset by what they considered to be its brevity. So the decision was made to err in future on the side of caution.

As Tariq Ali wrote today, it's North Korea time at the BBC. Talk about decorum...

At least we are still getting music on R3, just not what we might be expecting?

The longer it is extended, the more I think it's political (defensive) - as noted by a couple of posts upthread.

On reflection, absent the lack of advance notice, this is the sort of programming I would like more of on R3: excellent performances of varied works, with very brief, non-showy (gushy) annoucemnents. (Cf RAI3, ORF et al.)

At last something we can all agree on?

                              Well it's a good distraction...

... I am sure there are easy links to be found between the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and that of Keyserlingk -
