I've enjoyed your posts, finding many of them stimulating, informative and entertaining. But I think you should try to 'fit in' with the forum's ethos. All forums have a tacit 'profile' of a forum member and if you Jar against it, it causes friction, gets in the way and spoils it for others. As for 'jarring', diasgreements may be jarring to those who disagree, but 'fitting in' involves not obviously - and deliberately - annoying, baiting or creating dissension. One of the things that makes forums like this work is the substantial overlap between member 'characteristics'. It is more conducive to discussion when people are like minded and talking about topics that interest them. It's hardly surprising, given what has caused us to come to the forum in the first place (classical music and R3). Well, IIRC (and I only read the posts quickly late the previous evening) perhaps LMcD felt his contributions weren't at all appreciated here. By some, at least - the membership in general weren't around to give a representative view I would say. I've adopted the approach of ignoring what irritates or is uninteresting but that's just me.
I'm not aware of the IT in relation to forums - perhaps the posts are lost in time, of there is a vault in the dungeon of FoR3 to which they have been consigned. (There used to be a dungeon which existed here with no links but its not been mentioned in many a year).Comment
