It seems strange that pushing shaving cream into the face of a criminal gets 6 weeks in prison, whilst at the same time war criminal amd mass murderer T Bliar still has his freedom?
I despair of the waste of money on our court and prison systems. Surely a public warning would have sufficed, unless the offender had serious previous.

Comments?
As far as I'm aware Mr Murdoch has not been charged with any offence, let alone convicted, and neither has Tony Blair. Whereas that blithering idiot who pulled the shaving foam stunt HAS been charged and convicted. Therefore he is the criminal, not the aforementioned individuals. And that is why he has been sent to prison.
Quite simple really......

But no previous convictions. Surely a suspended sentence would have been adequate?

But the punishment surely does not fit the crime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He went for a geriatric billionaire with a foam pie, missed and got handbagged by the old boy's Ninja missus.
Imprisonment is the only possible punchline to this gag. The judge might understandably have been more tolerant if the sad fool had only succeeded.
PS: Though I have little interest in Parliament, I don't want anyone else getting ideas. And we can't always expect Wendy Murdoch to be on duty defending Liberty!, Democracy!, Life!
Any idiot who thinks he is being really clever by trying to shove shaving foam into another person's face should arguably be locked up for good ...
The much more serious matter was the appalling security at the hearing which allowed the idiot (and any non-idiots for that matter) to bring non-essential goods into the room in the first place, and the downright incompetent lack of close protection for the widely unpopular and controversial witnesses who were present.
This 'event' was planned weeks in advance and televised all over the world. The Chairman said at the end he would look into the totally inadequate arrangements for security and report back ... has anyone heard or read anything since?

You miss my point - this country is supposedly broke. Why do the CPS think they should spend any time and money on this case - give him a caution and cheerio!
I'm not sure that I did miss your point, bo. I don't agree with it. Whether it's a foam pie, a banner, fireworks or a pistol, I don't want any other halfwit making 'points' in this way. I see it as essentially the same egotism that leads to July corpses on the Tube.

Really - strange comparison, but if that's what you really think.....

He'll be out in three weeks. Charlie Gilmour got 16 months.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
