Well a Mac is, of course, a form of PC (Personal Computer). It's just that it requires less mental effort to use, and keep working, than one based on an IBM original and running a Microsoft Operating System does.

I remember shelling out about £45 to go on a day course for advice as to what to look for in a computer for my purposes. I was inclined towards a Mac back then and was disappointed that Macs weren't mentioned at all as the course was, as advertised, 'confined to PCs'. I was indeed under the impression that a Mac was a PC/personal computer. Now that most days I use both I am in some position to judge their respective performance and characteristics
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

May I humbly point out that a Mac and a PC differ in one important respect. The former has it's own dedicated operating system while the latter does not ..

A Linux PC, therefore, is quite different from its rather more ubiquitous Windows counterpart, and for that some are eternally grateful.

Back on topic ... it surely must be the Silly Season ...

A 76-year-old MP says even "ugly, foolish and frail" colleagues seem to be irresistible - but warns them not to be seduced.

(... and presumably he means even the most superficially unattractive MPs rather than the most superficial, unattractive ones.)

Explorers, fear ye nay more the Internet:

A story which suggested that users of Internet Explorer have a lower IQ than people who chose other browsers appears to have been an elaborate hoax.

Civil Partnerships for men and cars possibly next on the list of priorities for our politicians then, Floss .. ? :cool2:
No - it would have to be a wedding - cars are habitually referred to as 'she', after all

So it (the Mac) is more suitable for people with a low IQ than a Windows PC is?

Was it Kissinger who said that power is the ultimate aphrodisiac?

                      & while we're on such subjects -
A new report has proved that Scots men are out in front when it comes to size. The English lagged behind and men from the US, Italy, Germany, India and a host of other nations just didn't measure up.

which should please Scotty (& Mrs Scotty?)

I'm much too modest to comment, Floss ...

Suffice to say that, North of the Border at least, The Daily Record has long been renowned for the accuracy and reliability of its reporting. :cool2:

I refer the Hon. Member to the response given earlier by the Right Hon. Francis Urquhart.

Shouldn't this be on the custard pie thread

Any mention of Paul Daniels reminds me of the wonderful line on the Mrs Merton Show, when 'Mrs Merton' was interviewing Mrs Daniels, a very young, nubile woman - "Tell me, Debbie, what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?"

A timeless classic of a line!!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
