      Again, why, might one ask?
Sentiment, perhaps, but not the sort of connection this thread used to be based on, methinks.

      I give up!

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

My English cousin - who's a world authority on all things TfL - has just informed me that it's blindingly obvious to anybody with half a brain that the link between Auerbach and Kancheli is the fact that it takes an Auer to get from Kanning Town to Chelsea if you forget to change at Mornington Crescent - we really MUST try to keep up, old chap!
(On second thoughts, perhaps, like you, I should give up!)

What, there are rules written down somewhere? In a cave on a stone tablet? Engraved on an ancient sword?

You're ABSOLUTELY right, Jayne - I shouldn't let myself get discouraged by the brilliance of others. So ......
Another of my cousins - Patrick - who knows quite a bit about soccer and has spent YEARS trying to wean me off the 15-a-side game (fat chance!), has come up with a couple of links for 'RED' that he hopes might allow me to enter more fully into the spirit of things:
                              (a) Donizetti: Emilia di Liverpool
                              (b) Malcolm Arnold: Peterloo
It's something to do with shirts, apparently...
Moving on, and encouraged by your suggestion that I don't worry too much about the rules, my suggested follow-up to your soggy place of worship is to be found on the corner of the street - I'm sure I don't need to explain!
                              Regards
                              Liz (rathfarnham girl)

... or Rossini (attr.), of course! (Moore, Moore!)
