          Yes, but...

...poor misunderstood Judee Sill was, surprise surprise, ignored once again. IMO she had more natural talent as a singer-songwriter than her more famous contemporaries in the Canyon. She had toured with Graham Nash and David Crosby as their opening act, which she found demeaning. David Geffen signed her to Asylum Records in its infancy but he'd probably decided she was going to be too much trouble for an adequate commercial return. I notice his current worth is $9.2 billion. Judee died alone in drugged penury aged 35.

There were several notable absences from those interviewed in LC as well as from the musicians featured.

This Crosby film has been a tough watch in places and I now really regret missing his gig a couple of years ago in London. Tempus fugit.

A programme about the Brunelleschi dome on soon (19:00 tonight), repeated on Sunday.

Part two looks at British artist Luke Jerram's contemporary dome, a public artwork in Coal Drops Yard, near King's Cross, and how it has developed over time. (2 of 2)

PS: I didn't know that we had to endure adverts, though!

It looks as though Sky Arts is going to broadcast the Beethoven symphonies conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, beginning at 6.00 a.m. on Thursday with Nos. 1 and 3.

Berlin Philharmonic. However, it’s on Thursday morning at 6.00.

On Wednesday at 7.15 there is a concert of Beethoven’s violin concerto and Schumann’s Rhenish symphony with Lorenzo Viotti and Sergei Khatchatryan
"I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

Good to see our very own Il Grande Inquisitor interviewed extensively in the hour-long documentary about Jessye Norman (though I note that he hasn’t posted since 2018 )
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
