I tried a decent aerial in the loft - still not good enough. The cost of having exernal work and wiring done just didn't seem worthwhile given the availability of online services.
I rather wish we could receive off air services as an additional method, but all my attempts in this area have failed. I even took a high gain aerial out in a car, with a meter to see if I could find a nearby location with sufficient oomph - should be possible, but I couldn't find anywhere good.
We have enough kit to make things work inside if there is an input signal which is strong and good enough. Which there isn't, or would be too costly to set up.

I kept getting the new channels Available message On my smart tv ( fed by humax pvr ) and ignoring it. At One point it was disrupting my enjoyment of the Tour de France on ITV 4 so much I pressed OK for the new channels reset and hey presto Sky Arts appeared on Channel 11 .I have a high quality roof Tv aerial ( and FM ) fed by Caradon ( in Cornwall) - I have lost BBC 4 HD which because I hover around channels 101- 5 mean I watch much less of it.

I can’t find a stream for Sky Arts, and for the other channels, it simply redirects you to existing services such as IPlayer or the ITV hub. Bryn’s Now TV might be the best solution, given its a Sky TV service.
Although the channel is moving out from behind the paywall, Sky Arts On Demand’s library of 2,000 hours of content will remain exclusive to Sky and NOW TV customers (which includes via BT TV).
Note also that the offerings will only be in SD, so if you want to have HD versions you'll have to subscribe to something.

I've just found we can get Sky Arts on our 4k TV via our satellite dish output. The video quality isn't great, so I suppose if we really want to see anything special it would be easier to just pay for a one month NowTV pass, and binge watch for a few weeks. I'm not sure that the channel number was as mentioned earlier on.
I would be interested in keeping up with this if a weekly heads up is going to be put here. I think there's yet another Cosi on Sunday - ah mentioned in the post now directly above this one. Semyon Bychkov is the conductor. It may actually be the one which the ROH offered directly not very long ago via Youtube, though I can't be sure. The latest offering is from 2017.Last edited by Dave2002; 24-09-20, 17:48.
