Sky Arts site has recommended programmes in different genres, eg art:

Filming with world class artists, collectors and industry insiders to tell stories about art in all its aspects - the many ways it enters our lives and reflects who we are as people, how it gets made, its history and the industry surrounding it.

Of those mentioned, I have watched Beardsley, Young Picasso, Artists in Love.

    Also opera:

David Bosch's atmospheric production of Verdi's famous opera of love, cruelty, intense passion and revenge. With Alexander Tsymbalyuk, Lianna Haroutounian and Francesca Chiejina.

I tried a decent aerial in the loft - still not good enough. The cost of having exernal work and wiring done just didn't seem worthwhile given the availability of online services.

I rather wish we could receive off air services as an additional method, but all my attempts in this area have failed. I even took a high gain aerial out in a car, with a meter to see if I could find a nearby location with sufficient oomph - should be possible, but I couldn't find anywhere good.

We have enough kit to make things work inside if there is an input signal which is strong and good enough. Which there isn't, or would be too costly to set up.
Once I'd found the right location for the aerial - flat (not mounted) on top of the laundry basket - I did a full retune and came up with some 70 radio or TV channels.

I kept getting the new channels Available message On my smart tv ( fed by humax pvr ) and ignoring it. At One point it was disrupting my enjoyment of the Tour de France on ITV 4 so much I pressed OK for the new channels reset and hey presto Sky Arts appeared on Channel 11 .I have a high quality roof Tv aerial ( and FM ) fed by Caradon ( in Cornwall) - I have lost BBC 4 HD which because I hover around channels 101- 5 mean I watch much less of it.

I’ve had a quick look, and this doesn’t appear to be as useful as it suggests. I can’t find a stream for Sky Arts, and for the other channels, it simply redirects you to existing services such as IPlayer or the ITV hub. Bryn’s Now TV might be the best solution, given its a Sky TV service.

I thought I'd check out BT and found this - https://community.bt.com/t5/TV-Conte...r/td-p/2076436

Although the channel is moving out from behind the paywall, Sky Arts On Demand’s library of 2,000 hours of content will remain exclusive to Sky and NOW TV customers (which includes via BT TV).
            from the BT site

Note also that the offerings will only be in SD, so if you want to have HD versions you'll have to subscribe to something.

My limited, modest 'heads-up' is really intended for Forumistas who might wish to watch the current Sky Arts output via Freeview or Freesat. While suggestions (and corrections!) are always welcome, I'm afraid I'm not in a position to offer a comprehensive service, and have therefore focussed mainly on musical performances rather than documentaries etc.

For those interested in watching this, the Guardian has a review:

With the action updated to a London car park and the audience in cars, ENO’s La Bohème is Europe’s first live drive-in opera. Our writer hops on his bike to watch the action from a socially distanced concrete square

I've had the title of this thread changed in order to avoid possible confusion, but Sky subscribers are of course equally welcome!

I've just found we can get Sky Arts on our 4k TV via our satellite dish output. The video quality isn't great, so I suppose if we really want to see anything special it would be easier to just pay for a one month NowTV pass, and binge watch for a few weeks. I'm not sure that the channel number was as mentioned earlier on.

I would be interested in keeping up with this if a weekly heads up is going to be put here. I think there's yet another Cosi on Sunday - ah mentioned in the post now directly above this one. Semyon Bychkov is the conductor. It may actually be the one which the ROH offered directly not very long ago via Youtube, though I can't be sure. The latest offering is from 2017.

As there appears to be a gratifying degree of interest, I shall update this thread every Saturday morning.

Thanks for pointing this out - a feature length doc on Rattle in Berlin....excellent. Sky HD subscriber here (if you watch a lot of Sport you find a way...), but I overlooked it in the scheds due to its start time...

Downloaded off catchup, will view avidly later...Rattle is generally as compelling before the camera as he is on the podium. Born communicator.

I watched the drive-in Boheme - well 5 minutes of it. It didn’t work for me musically, acoustically or scenically.

Don't forget LSO/Rattle in Stravinsky's Firebird/Petrushka/Rite on tomorrow at 11.00. I attended that concert and can recommend!
