    Classical music for Lockdown

Needless to say someone has made a Coronavirus quarantine party playlist on Spotify. Starts with Britney Spears "Toxic" and ends with Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive. Includes "Don't Stand So Close To Me" by the Police.

A classical list might include 'Masks' from Romeo and Juliet (Prokofiev), Delirien Walzer (Josef Strauss), I'm so Pritti (Bernstein), The Death of Boris (well nearly, apparently) Boris Godunov (Mussorgsky), Symphony No 2 (The Age of Anxiety) (Bernstein).

I'm sure you wits can think of more.

Peggy Lee: 'Fever' (could well go viral if reissued)
A suitable movie to help pass the time might be The China Syndrome.
If you'd rather read, there's always Camus's 'La Peste' or, less depressing, Eric Ambler's 'The Mask of Dimitrios'.
Once the crisis is over, or the worst has definitely past, we can all sing the words - yes, I know they're dreadful - to the theme tune from 'The Great Escape'.

To complete your protection, there's Glove Music - Zygmunt Krauze - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXmodLNkFOY

And Gauntlet - composed for games, but seems to me a passable item of classical music.

I e been setting myself projects. An idea, like now, the DG set of their Complete Mahler Edition, I’m diligently going through, and enjoying immensely the recordings on offer.
