[b] repeat some of the items?

Yes I KNOW 'everyone's got telly, but.........

5 p.m. on a weekend maybe? Save us from yet ANOTHER 'P.M' churning over the same depressing dredgings, platitudes, cliches, avoidance strategies by politicians etc?
I'm desperately trying to avoid the News on BBC TV and Radio as they dredge deeper and darker and on every continent into tragedy, disaster, bleakness. The BBC has lost me a long time ago on the new front. Anyone else?

Would kids today listen to a new 'Children's Hour' on radio?

My Mother always said that when that or 'Counterspy' was on she could feed me anything - even things I hated because I just ate them unnoticing as if in some other universe!!

Unless I've misremembered (which is perfectly possible) did each episode of 'Counterspy' start with the opening of Stravinsky's Symphony in 3 Movements and, if not, was it used for another children's programme? Interesting to discover that Children's Hour concluded at 5.50 p.m. with Prayers For Children, although I suspect that I or an adult in the household hurriedly switched off at that point!

Thanks LMcD and DracoM for this. The Stravinsky was the most memorable part of that programme for me, the title of which I had totally forgotten; but remained curious about the memory which would surface if I ever heard the Stravinsky. All I remember of Counterspy itself was an episode that ended with 'Look at that dog! It's the size of a horse!!' [Cue Stravinsky...]
