Tim Brooke-Taylor joins those killed by SARS-CoV-2

Sad to see reports of the death of Goodie and ISIHAC stalwart, Tim Brooke-Taylor. A funny, gentle man.

This is immeasurably sad news. I remember him best in 'I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again' as the voice of Lady Constance de Coverlet.

    RIP TB-T.

All so tragic - the moreso since he was a man who made us laugh so much.

As it happens, we've been listening to old editions of ISIHAC at suppertime instead of the news. As you say, tragic news.

Very sad to hear this news. Was still making me laugh until very recently on the antidote to panel games.

It is a sadder world for his passing.

News reports say he died with coronavirus, not necessarily because of it. Saying that it killed him is being sensationalist and not necessarily true.

I find such not-picking offensive and an insult to his memory.

In a statement, his representative said: "It is with great sadness that we announce Tim's death early today from COVID-19."
                          from Sky News. my emphasis.

That's really a terrible loss. He was a brilliant and intelligent comedian. Condolences to his family

If a headline like the title of this thread appeared in a newspaper it would be called irresponsible journalism. It is more of an insult to someone recently departed to jump to a conclusion and use such an emotive word as "killed", rather than taking a measured view and waiting for the truth to emerge. The BBC say that he died with the virus.
