This is driving me spare - there is no place for this nonsense on Radio 3. I was driven to retune to Classic FM* on my drive home today by the constant references to the Salford shindig.

Just as annoying is having Beethoven as Composer of the Week on alternating weeks! I like Beethoven well enough but I don't want him shoved down my ear'oles at every opportunity just because of some birthday or other. Grrrr.
