Comments on article in The Times look to be 99% condemning of the Cummings/Johnson administration. Usually a squad of Tory bots defending the indefensible. Its probably a vain hope for them to be unseated before no deal Brexit and Scottish independence are irreversible (and the rest - independent judges, sovereignty of Parliament and more).
Hooray! my joint gas and electricity direct debit reduces from £99 to £62/month for 6 months, starting in September.
Ironically, September is often when my spending on energy goes up, lasting right through until May. Every summer I switch off my boiler, and just use the immersion heater in short bursts. Half an hour on will give me 24 hour's worth, sufficient hot water for the usual necessities, and I only use the electric cooker on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays to boil an egg for breakfast, and on Friday to cook fish for supper. Next March the charge will go back up again after I've sent in my readings.

I had a similar price drop at the beginning of the year, when my supplier, whom I was quite happy with, got taken over and the prices went up. USwitch gave me a hot tip, and I switched to Scottish Power. That was at the time of lock-down, and I had some difficulties setting up my online account, because password reset links were disappearing down a black hole, and it took me some time to discover that. Everything fine now.
.......More than that, I had an email today from an organisation I've never heard of informing me that I have been ranked 7712 out of about 50.000 amateur radio contesters world-wide, up 102 from last year! Howz about that then?
He was conducting a ballet in Düsseldorf when lockdown struck. But rising star Finnegan Downie Dear still made it his year, blazing to victory in the Mahler Conducting Competition - and creating a groundbreaking opera
Congratulations to the Scottish First Minister for not only reminding soccer players and administrators that they're subject to the same constraints as the rest of us but also telling - not asking - them to postpone certain matches and threatening more comprehensive action if they continue to ignore the rules.

... and I can’t think who she was thinking of when she mentioned politicians digging holes whe referring to the exam results problem. Must be good to have a leader who displays common sense rather than just talking about it!
If this works, it could help to reduce the effects of CO2 emissions in production, and thus lower the environmental impact and climate effects.
Nevertheless, I had to check my ancient dictionary after discovering from that article that, not only do Americans pronounce it thus, they spell it that way too!

That was the supposedly funny bit of an Enterprise car hire advert some years ago. It fell a bit flat as the argument centred around a supposedly missing "u" rather than the point of difference which is actually the "i".
