Here's a story - not a poem - called 'Digging'. With the magic of photography plus drone technology, however, Seamus Heaney has a challenger for the title!

I guess this counts as a good news story of a sort - I couldn't find the 'out for delivery' thread.
Anyway, at about 10.00 a.m. this morning I handed in at our local post office a package containing an item that I was returning to Amazon. About an hour later I received an email from Amazon advising me that the refund would be in my account in 5-7 working days. Can't complain about that!

My local newspaper is publishing numbers of patients who are being discharged recovered from hospital, a useful move I think among all the grim death figures, but I don't think any have been as dramatic as this
Meanwhile, as of this morning, Capt Tom Moore has raised £6 million for NHS Charities Together.

Cycled into St. Albans Bank Holiday Monday along the St. Albans Way, a disused railway track, now converted into a cycle route. Lots of cyclists and pedestrians.
Everything was fine until I reached a steep flight of steps off the Way into the highway, which was my intended route. I had a heavy e-bike which is a boon if one is not up to cycling "scratch", but it really is a pain to lift any distance. I had to wait a little while for the steps to clear of cyclists and pedestrians , but then there was a young runner who was stretching on the grass bank near the steps, within the 2 meter mark. This all made me cross, and I reached the conclusion that the young and fit are not taking matters as seriously as us old-timers.
I continue my route along the highway, which was in fact a lot safer, albeit the traffic density being considerably higher than Cromwell Road.
In two minds about e-bikes; I may go back to my old sports bike, suitably adapted for shopping etc.

What made me incandescent with rage was hearing Mr Hancock on the radio saying what a great thing this was... not forgetting that HE was one of those who cheered when he and his rich mates voted against giving key workers decent pay.

There are no national plans in the sense I understand them for anything to do with the Covid 19 crisis so the thought of a large sum of money going into a central melting pot with a vague generic NHS Charities title makes me fear for its future. How much will disappear in 'admin', how will decisions be made about deserving causes, how long will desperate people and activities have to wait before they see any money? Past and current performance doesn't inspire confidence in me that this gentleman's efforts will be treated with the respect they deserve or achieve what the public would expect.

Definitely a worthy cause, though I agree with MrGG's "incandescent" comments above.
