I wouldn't have thought so - the document I possess is the original.

You can get a copy(needless to say it'll cost ya!) of the original entry in the register of births and it is legally valid.
Order an official birth, adoption, death, marriage or civil partnership certificate from the General Register Office (GRO) if you need a copy or want to research your family tree.

          A nice surprise this morning.

My father passed away ten years ago this November and this morning, out of the blue, I received a sizable cheque from an insurance company in respect of a policy I didn't know he had.

This was odd because my father was a funeral director for very many years and he was well aware of the problems left for families to sort out. He'd therefore left behind complete details regarding his funeral and all insurance policies. These all paid out within a few weeks after his death.

Now wondering if there are any more he might have forgotten!

Afraid not, ts, but I did get the 40/1 winner of the same race last year.

Well, that was quick. Trainline and PayPal have both confirmed that my cancelled train refund will arrive next week.

Yes! This got a mention on the BBC 1 1pm News, where the store chain CEO was interviewed. Our local Sainsbury's has re-introduced one single walk-through checkout. I would dearly like to think it was after I had assailed the store manageress (with whom I am normally on friendly terms) saying that the expensive branch refurbishment had put me off using it ever again. She said, "You can always use our complain facility", to which I replied that Sainsbury's would be unlikely to reverse their decision on grounds that some unfortunate old bloke was finding the new arrangements difficult to negotiate!

Excellent! Booths is an admirable store. They have a good track record of employing differently-abled staff. I have slways found staff polite and helpful.

As you observe Booths are concentrated in the NW with a few incursions into the White Rose County. The nearest one to us is Ripon, which is quite a trek, but we pop in if we are passing.
